Well this has got to be a bad sign. I am up late waiting for a download to finish, when I stumble across this article quoting Carol Gregg who owns Red Egg, a wholesale furniture company that reproduces antique pieces.

Gregg moved her boutique business from California to High Point four years ago. Then, two years ago, she started transferring her production from China to a High Point factory. Now, she makes all her products in North Carolina. She said she made the change because she was spending too much time in China keeping the quality consistent, and her shipping prices kept going up.
Of course, we share some similarities in that ACF China also is in the business of making oriental antique reproductions and what make this so eye catching is that even the styles themselves are Chinese. I am curious what the fully story is. Was she wasting her time “trying to do it herself?” Did she lack a local presence here? Or was it quality fade that eventually got to her?
Hey, I wonder if the makers of fake Gucci bags will be the next ones to move production to the states.
